TAZARA operates train services tailored to customer specifications such as block trains for customers with big volumes of cargo which can be scheduled to the customers timing. All trains are escorted by armed state police officers to ensure and guarantee safety of customer’s goods at all times, as well as strict accountability by handling crews.
PASSENGER SERVICES
TAZARA operates two cross border Passenger Trains weekly every Tuesday and Fridays from New Kapiri Mposhi as well as from Dar es Salaam. These trains have First Class coaches with 4 berths per compartment, Second Class coaches with 6 berths per compartment, a semi-luxurious super sitter coach and third class coaches.

PARCELS TRAIN SERVICES
TAZARA has a Parcels Train operating between the Port of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania and New Kapiri Mposhi in Zambia. The Parcels Trains are not subjected to stoppages at the border as parcels are custom cleared in advance at Dar es Salaam so no delays are expected. The rates for through parcels are very competitive. Its frequency is once for every month and minimum acceptable weight is 20kgs. The frequency of these trains can be increased on demand.
