The Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) is pleased to announce that the Udzungwa Shuttle Passenger Train, which was suspended in October 2025 due to operational challenges, will resume operations on Thursday, 12th February 2026.
The service has been reinstated following the rationalisation of available equipment to ensure continued service to communities along the corridor. The Udzungwa’s return will restore reliable mobility and connectivity along the Makambako–Kidatu route, a key passenger link for Njombe and Morogoro.
