Dar es Salaam, 19 May 2026 — The Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) takes this opportunity to inform the public and all esteemed customers that the Mukuba Cross-Border Train Services will be temporarily suspended for one week, from 26 May to 1 June 2026, to allow for annual mechanical maintenance, internal inspections, and essential servicing works on rolling stock and related operational systems.

This planned maintenance programme is aimed at enhancing operational safety, reliability, and service efficiency in line with TAZARA’s commitment to providing safe, reliable and cost-effective rail transport services.

Normal train operations are expected to resume on Tuesday 2 June 2026, with the Dar es Salaam bound Train.

Passengers and customers are therefore advised to plan their travel arrangements accordingly during this period.

TAZARA sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused and appreciates the continued patience, cooperation and support from the travelling public and business community during this transition period.
