Meeting for the first time this year, at an Extra-Ordinary Board gathering in Dar es Salaam on 5th March 2016, the Directors observed that although there were positive indicators towards improving, the operational performance of TAZARA still remained unsustainably low, and directed the management to engage more customers in order to increase the volume of business.

A Zambian tour operator says she is excited to learn that the Tanzania Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) has acquired new passenger train coaches. Claire Powell of Thorn Tree Safaris of Kasama said the tour operators were very excited about the “fantastic development”.
